Facelift / Necklift

This procedure includes the lift of the face and neck and it may be done with eyelid surgery. The surgery may take three hours (four if done in conjunction with the eyes). There will be a drainage tube placed behind the ears for a few days. Sutures will be removed within two weeks of surgery. The patient may return to work within two weeks after recuperation.

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

This procedure removes the excess skin and fat in the upper and lower eyelids. The surgery takes 1hr. 30min. and the sutures with be removed within 4-7 days. The patient may return to work within two weeks after recuperation.

Nose Reshaping (Rhinoplasty)

Reconstructive Rhinoplasty is performed to correct birth defects and disfigurement resulting from injury. The procedure may be done with or without the use of a nasal implant. Dr. Ofodile has created his own nasal implant suited to satisfy Hispanic and African American patient needs. It may be done in conjunction with an operation performed to relieve nasal obstruction due to an internal deformity. The surgery may take 2 hours. The nose will be packed for 1-2 days, requiring the patient to breathe through the mouth. There will be a small splint placed on the patient's nose for about a week. The sutures will be removed 5-7 days after surgery. The patient may return to work after a week.

Prominent Ears

This surgery may be done in adults as well as children. The purpose is to bring the ears closer to the head when they are too far or pushed outward. The surgery takes 1hr. 30min. and sutures will be removed 8-10 days later. The patient will have to wear a headband for about a month, but can return to work after a week.

Liposculpture (Liposuction, Fat Suction, Suction Lipectomy)

Removes unwanted fat deposits from specific parts of the body, including the chin, neck and cheeks; upper arms and above the breasts; abdomen, buttocks, hips and thighs; knees, calves and ankles. Liposuction is not a substitute for weight reduction, but a method of removing localized fat that doesn't respond to diet and excercise.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

A major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. The procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen and takes approximately 2-5 hours. You may not be able to stand straight at first. Stitches will be removed in 5-7 days. Some people return to work after two weeks, but recovery may take up to four.

Thigh Lift

A thigh lift is performed to remove excess skin and fat from the upper legs. Candidates typically suffer from loose, inelastic skin after extreme weight loss due to diet, exercise or bariatric surgery. Because of this, the procedure is often combined with others such as breastlifts, facelifts and armlifts to retain an attractive body proportion.

Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

After substantial weight loss, weight gain or simply from the effects of aging, skin on the upper arms can become inelastic, loose and flabby. Arm lifts, also known as brachioplasty, remove that excess skin and fat. Patients who have significant amounts of fat may want to consider combining the procedure with liposuction.
